New Digital Asset Management eBook Published by Picturepark

Aarau, Switzerland – 28 January 2014 – Swiss digital asset management (DAM) software provider Picturepark® has published “DAM Prep in 7 Steps,” an all-new eBook that aims to reduce the mystery and confusion that can accompany the planning and launch of a DAM initiative. The 35-page eBook is available for download in PDF, Kindle and ePUB formats at http://picturepark.com/dam-prep

“There is much more to planning for digital asset management than choosing the best DAM software,” said Picturepark Americas sales director, Hector Medina, who has worked in the DAM industry nearly 20 years. “Most of the people I meet have little or no idea what DAM actually involves. This eBook will help them understand what to expect, which I think is good for everyone involved.”

“DAM Prep in 7 Steps” is the first Picturepark publication released under the guidelines of the company’s #LearnDAM initiative, which provides digital asset management educational materials that are neither sales-focused nor specific to any particular DAM solution.

“Picturepark would rather educate than convince,” said Picturepark marketing director and “DAM Prep” author, David Diamond, who also authored DAM Survival Guide. “People who have a better understanding of digital asset management are better equipped to choose the right DAM software for their needs. If Picturepark fits best, that’s great; if not, then at least we have done something to help that organization find the DAM solution that works best for them.”

“DAM Prep in 7 Steps” topics include:

  • Making sure DAM is really what’s needed
  • Finding trusted guidance to help users throughout their initiatives
  • Managing expectations so that everyone is happier with the DAM
  • Basic taxonomy and metadata design practices and ideas
  • Preparing for the DAM configuration project
  • Launching and supporting the DAM
  • Recommended further reading

About Picturepark

Picturepark digital asset management software enables organizations to centrally store, manage and share digital assets on a modern service-oriented architecture (SOA) that is scalable, based on open standards, and available in the Cloud (SaaS), on-premise or in hybrids. Picturepark is suitable for enterprise-wide DAM deployment thanks, in part, to load-balancing, failover, service-based computer clustering, and support for true multi-tenant deployment. Adaptive Metadata technology enables each class of asset to have its own metadata schema that can evolve over time. Support for multiple taxonomies and controlled vocabularies is standard. The Picturepark Web Services API enables developers to integrate Picturepark with other systems. Embedded and branded Web portals based on HTML5/CSS can be built using the graphical Picturepark Ports tool.
